Acquired from Costa Cruises where she sailed as Costa Venezia, this ship made her first voyage for Carnival on May 29, 2023. Although some Carnival cruise ships are pretty old, every ship undergoes an extensive dry dock refurbishment at least every five years. So even if you choose one of the oldest ships, you can rest assured that everything will be in good working order and looking good. With so many ships to choose from, it can be virtually impossible to remember which Carnival cruise ships are the newest and which are the older ones.

In terms of food and drinks, I had a strange experience at Chibang! Usually, they don't have meat in them, nor was meat listed as an ingredient on the menu. Combining noise with the annoyance of hawking alcohol, the roving waiters visited every table at Chibang! — the ship's hybrid Mexican-Asian restaurant — one night while I was having dinner there. Whenever somebody bought one, the waiter would demand that they yell "Shot, shot, shot!" before downing it.

My kids slurped up pasta at Cucina del Capitano at lunch, and I heard others rave that the steakhouse was as good as I remember from other ships. The Excel-class ships solve that problem by spreading out the casual venues across multiple decks. Guy's Burger Joint is up on Deck 17 instead of by the midship pool; Big Chicken is outside the Lido Marketplace at the very back of Deck 16. Each is accompanied by a duo of soft-serve machines that get heavy use. However, I've been on older Carnival ships where all the casual venues are on the lido deck, and the area gets incredibly busy at lunchtime.

Both the Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras have this fantastic new stage in the new large atrium area of the ship. The area is stunningly beautiful and loaded with incredible technology. However, Carnival is trying to do full-production shows here, and the demand to see these shows far outweighs the available seats. On board, we attended several comedy shows in the Punchliner Comedy Club and the Limelight Lounge. They were also very approachable, shaking hands and taking pictures with guests as we exited the show. I thought this was wonderful and shows how touched guests were by seeing such talented entertainers live.
The ship has a nice-sized main pool on the Lido deck and two aft Infinity pools. The stateroom features USB ports on both sides of the bed and LED reading lamps. Overall, we enjoyed this stateroom during our cruise, and I am always impressed by the many details Carnival integrates into its stateroom design. I loved how the atrium area is now more incorporated into the daily flow of the ship, rather than an area you pass by to get somewhere else.

In Costa Maya, we chose to stay aboard the ship and enjoy everything it had to offer. Leading up to this port day, we hadn’t booked any excursions, so it was nice to have the ship tour ourselves while many of the ship’s guests were off the ship enjoying this port. If you haven’t done this before, you might be surprised how different the ship can be during these times.
Carnival Jubilee has standard North American 110-volt outlets in its cabins, as well as plenty of USB ports. In my balcony room, I had three standard outlets and four USB lightning ports by the vanity. There was also a USB port (non-lightning) on either side of the bed, just below the reading lamp. The third and fourth quarters occur in the Summer Landing zone; passengers can rope hay bales, participate in a hot wing-eating contest at Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse and follow it up with music from a live band.
It was transferred over from sister cruise line Costa Cruises and the ship’s homeport is Long Beach, California. It’s a Vista class ship and is themed after the Italian city of Florence.
